Signs that light up life
For the fourth year in a row, our architect Enida Kratovic has been a member of the jury for the Signage Prize, on behalf of the Ljusreklamförbundet. During Ljusdagen on 3 September, the winners were announced at Münchenbryggeriet in Stockholm.
And here we have them:
he category reconstructed sign: Eivy Flodin created by FocusNeo
Jury’s motivation: “After relocation and careful renovation, these extremely charming neon signs continue to bring joy to visitors and passers-by alike. On Grev Turegatan in Stockholm, the facade is now adorned with the iconic letters of Eivy Flodin’s perfumery.”
In the single sign category: Solen created by Skyltgruppen
Jury’s motivation: ‘Like solitary majesties, these warm yellow letters float like individually luminous sculptures above the eaves of the old industrial building. Together they create a radiant whole. The sun always seems to shine on the Mediterranean restaurant in the Meatpacking area, all year round, night and day.”
In the signage concept category: Kvartetten created by Modulex (formerly Accus)
Jury’s motivation: “The signage concept interacts beautifully with the architecture and almost blurs the boundaries with its sophisticated detailing, elegance and balanced sense of materials. The combination of creativity, innovation and precision craftsmanship reinforces the visual identity of the Kvartetten building in a striking way.”
Big congrats from us at Wester+Elsner Architects!
